WAKE COUNTY - Five North Carolina fire departments faced a full-involved commercial structure fire on Highway 70 east near the county line on Sunday morning.

Garner firefighters found heavy smoke on arrival at a single-story, 3,859 square-foot strip club. Eastern Wake units were also initially dispatched.

Defensive operations were started at the unoccupied structure after about 20 minutes, with Garner Ladder 1 operating. Clayton, Wilson's Mills, and Archer Lodge were requested as mutual aid, to assist with a water shuttle.

Garner EMS and Wake EMS were also on scene.

The 6:28 a.m. fire was controlled within two hours. One firefighter was injured with a slight burn to the foot. Investigators were on scene both Sunday and Monday.
