Virginia Firefighter Suffers Burns at Two-Story Inferno

Fire licked the night sky, the wood crackled, smoke rolled and Chesterfield Fire and EMS were on the way.

December 22nd, around 2157 hours, the tones summoned Chesterfield firefighters to 11647 Plantation Trace for a possible structure fire.

Responding were: Engine, Truck and Medic 7, E-16, Battalion 3, Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad 329, E-24, TSO, E-19, E-13, Tanker 13, Tanker 7, Truck 9, and Air Utility.

First on scene reported fire showing from first floor windows, heavy smoke on second floors.

Type of structure: 4000 sq/ft, 2-story tudor-style home.

An offensive aggressive interior attack was initiated, then combined with a mix of defensive and interior work.

One firefighter suffered minor burns and was treated on scene.

Water supply was by tankers.

Fire was marked under control at 22:36 hours.

Cause is under investigation.
