NAPERVILLE, Ill. --

A fire swept through a suburban Chicago home, killing a woman and her two young children, authorities said Sunday.

Investigators were searching for the cause of the blaze that erupted on Saturday.

Killed were Nimishaa Tiwari, 45; her son, Vakaghan, 4; and daughter, Fananya, 18-months-old, said Naperville Police Sgt. Elizabeth Smith.

They were first transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville, where the boy was pronounced dead. His mother and sister were later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where they died of their injuries.

Officials said the fire caused about $100,000 in damage to the home.
