MILWAUKEE --

The victims of Tuesday's fatal fire on Milwaukee's north side have been identified.

Firefighters said they rescued Lawana Lark, 26 and Timothy Clarke, 29, from the fire near 15th Street and Keefe Avenue just after 6:30 a.m., but both victims died at the scene.

Investigators said they believe the fire started in a kitchen or dining room on the first floor.

Firefighters also said six children were inside. They all got out safely.

There were working smoke detectors inside the home.
