One man was killed and three firefighters injured after a Henrico County accident involving a fire truck.

According to police, Frederick Hicks was driving his sedan through the intersection of Creighton Road and Laburnum Avenue around 1 p.m. Sunday when it collided with a fire truck. Hicks, 40, died on scene. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say the fire truck was responding to a house fire call when the collision occurred. Witnesses say the truck was using its lights and sirens.

The accident left the intersection closed for hours while crash teams investigated the scene and removed debris.

The accident remains under investigation. Stay with 8 News for updates.
