BRIDGEPORT, Conn. --

A fire engulfed three buildings early Friday, and fire officials said three people were found dead in the rubble and three others were injured.

A man, woman and baby were found dead in a building where the top two floors of a three-story building had collapsed, Deputy Fire Chief Robert Petrucelli said.

"All three were huddled together in the collapsed rubble," Petrucelli said.

A nursing supervisor at Bridgeport Hospital said an adult and two children, aged 12 and 15, were admitted. There was no immediate word on their conditions.
