Responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires, this position is also responsible for possibly driving vehicles to the fire scenes following predetermined routes or selecting an alternate route if necessary. You will be operating pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweep nozzle and other similar equipment. You will be using a variety of special protective gear in situations where poisonous gases, radioactive materials and hazardous biological products are involved. Other duties will include performing daily preventive maintenance such as oil changes, replacing packing in pumps, draining/flushing tanks and otherwise ensuring that all equipment is in usable condition.
DoD/IFSAC is required. All candidates must possess the following certifications: Airport Firefighter, Firefighter I, Firefighter II and HazMat Ops.
All candidates must be willing to sign a one year open ended agreement following a minimum of 14 days of processing in Houston.
