We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of career, paid-on-call, and part time. We offer a wide range of services to the community including EMS, Firefighting, Extrication, Confined Space Rescue, Overland Search and Rescue, Ice Rescue, Water Rescue and many of our members belong to the Marathon County Hazardous Materials Team and Marathon County Technical Rescue Team. Rib Mountain Fire Department currently holds an ISO rating of 4 for our fire response within the town water district and an ISO rating of 6 for our rural area response. Our EMS service is licensed to the EMT-Paramedic level covering 35 square miles in the Town of Rib Mountain, 30 square miles in the Town of Marathon, and an additional 35 square miles in the Town of Stettin. In total our EMS services cover 100 square miles for three townships. In addition we conduct neo-natal transports (with hospital neo-natal team), interfacility transports, and intercepts when requested.
