The three volunteer companies are strategically located at various points on the outer rim of the Town to provide more timely response to all types of emergencies. The East Wallingford Volunteer Fire Department (Co 8)is one of the 3 volunteer companies.The other volunteer companies are the North Farms Volunteer Fire Department (Company 7)and the Yalesville Volunteer Fire Department (Company 5 and Cook Hill-Station 4). The volunteer companies are toned out for any reponses in their first due area as well as the closest career apparatus, providing for short response times.
