We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are one of eight Chaves County Fire Departments. The Sierra Fire District covers the West side of Chaves County. We have Mutual Aid Agreements with all the Fire Departments around Roswell, NM including Berrendo, East Grand Plains, Midway Vol. Fire Department, Roswell Fire Department, BLM, and Bitter Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. We also support other Vol. Fire Departments in Chaves County including Dexter, Hagerman, Lake Aurthur, District 8, Dunken, Penasco and Rio Felix.
