About Robbinsdale Fire Department:
Robbinsdale Fire Department proudly protects 14,123 people living in an area of 2.9 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status.

The Robbinsdale Fire Department was formally organized in 1909. Its mission is to provide safety and protection of all persons and properties in the City of Robbinsdale through fire suppression, fire prevention through code enforcement and fire safety education. The department is comprised of thirty members from the community who are on a paid on call status. The Robbinsdale Fire Department currently operates from the Public Safety Building located at 4101 Hubbard Avenue North.

The leadership staff of the Fire Department includes Chief Mark Fairchild, Assistant Chief Jim Richardson, Fire Marshal Greg Bodin, Captains; Guy Dorholt, and Mike Lutz, Lieutenants; Mike Powell and Nathan Zieba, Fire Inspector; David Wilson, and Training Officer Charles Wivinus. These officers guide the members of the Fire Department during calls for service, weekly drills and monthly meetings.

The Robbinsdale Fire Department responded to 380 calls for 2007. Types of calls received by the Fire Department include; Structure Fires, Grass Fires, Vehicle Fires, Crash Extrication, Hazardous Material Spills, Fire Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Alarms, Emergency Medical Services, Mutual Aid to other communities, Natural Gas Smells, Smoke Smells, Water Emergencies and more. The Fire Department receives these calls for service through the Hennepin County Sheriff's Dispatch Center. The dispatch center receives emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and notifies the fire department's members through a voice paging system. Fire fighters who respond to calls for Fire Services in Robbinsdale come from all different walks of life.

Fire department members respond to calls for service on many types of fire apparatus. The apparatus used by the Robbinsdale Fire Department includes; a 1999 Pierce Quantum 75 foot Ladder, a 1990 Pierce Javelin Pumper, a 1980 American LaFrance Pumper, a 2006 Pierce Rescue Truck,, a 1988 International Command / Rescue Truck, a 2007 Ford Utility Truck and a 2000 Air Command Hovercraft.
