Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) Fire & Emergency Services proudly protects approximately 3500 people living and working in an area of 2+ square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects primarily a Federal installation. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Thank you for visiting our web page. We are a Federal Government Fire Department located near Richmond, Virginia. Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) Fire Department began operations in January of 1942 when the installation started business. The majority of our calls deal with hazardous materials and emergency medical responses. The Department of Defense Hazardous Materials Hotline, which you will find on page 11 of the 2000 North American Emergency Response Guidebook, is the 1-800 line which we operate 24-hours a day providing crucial hazardous material information to emergency response personnel worldwide. The system is designed to provide assiatance at incidents involving materials (other than explosives and ammunition) being shipped by, for, or to the Department of Defense.
