About Wrightsville VFD:
Wrightsville vol. fire dept. Station 62 proudly protects 2500 people living in an area of 62 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The wrightsville vol fire dept. was incorporated on May 13, 1949. The first equipment was an engine and pump on a trailer and had to be towed by a truck. Since then we have grown to not only provide fire protection but EMS and rescue for the community people. We have up to date equipment and are always doing continuing education. The wrightsville vol fire department proudly protects 2500 homes living in an area of 62 square miles. Our department is a public department whose members are on volunteer status. We have an ISO rating of 9. Our department has 24 members which consists of 7 EMT's. Wrightsville fire company covers two villages in Freehold along with Freehold and Pittsfield townships. We also supply mutual aid to other local departments. The department requires each members to take module 1, hazmat and a certain percentage of in house drills. The chief must be in the department for 5 years and maintain all the requirement of the department and an advance fire class every year. The assistants chiefs must maintain all requirements of the department and have at least 3 years in the department. All junior officers must be in the department at least 1 year and maintain all the requirements of the department.
