About Belaire-Olivier-Morbihan Volunteer Fire Department:
Belaire-Olivier-Morbihan Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 30000 people living in an area of 330 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. B.O.M is part of Iberia Parish Fire Protection District #1. Which is a Combination Department. The Iberia Parish Fire Protection District #1 protects the lives and property of approximately 30,000 people in the areas of Iberia Parish that are outside the city limits of New Iberia, Delcambre, Jeanerette, and Loreauville. This response area includes over 300 square miles. The Fire District also responds automatically to incidents in the municipalities of Delcambre, Jeanerette, and Loreaville to assist those departments. Additionally, the Fire District is resonsible for providing fire protection and rescue services to the Port Of Iberia, as well as Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting services to the Acadiana Regional Airport in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration Regulations. The Fire District is comprised of career personnel and volunteer firefighters. The Fire District is also comprised of five batalions: Belaire-Oivier-Morbihan, Coteau, Grand Marais, Lydia, and Rynella. All personnel are trained to provide effective and efficient fire protection and emergency services.
