About New Harmony Fire Department:
New Harmony Fire Department proudly protects 3000 people living in an area of 60 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Established in 1814 when the town of New Harmony was started. Still have the first hand pulled-hand pumper that was built in 1809. Protect many historic building in community that still exist from the early 1800's. Currently have 7 fire units with the newest being a 1994 75' ladder with a 1500 gpm pump
