About Mt Baldy Volunteer Fire Department:
Mt Baldy Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 1200 people living in an area of 23 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a private department whose members are on all volunteer status. The Mt Baldy Fire Department was formally organized by concerned citizens on May 20, 1953, as the Mt Baldy Fire Company. Our Department is all volunteer, non-paid, non-profit, and not tax supported. No member of the Department receives any compensation for services rendered except the satisfaction of lending a helping hand when needed. Our area of service includes portions of both Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Our members donate over 15,000 hours in training and emergency responses each year. Our main sources of income are donations from the residents of our community and the Mt Baldy Fire Department Steak Fry, held every year on the fourth Saturday of June.
