We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Lee Acres Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department serving the area between the cities of Farmington and Bloomfield in Northwest New Mexico. LAVFD (San Juan County District 6) serves 50 square miles of suburban, rural, commercial and industrial areas including older single-wide mobile homes to $750,000 homes, a horse track and casino, the county fairgrounds, many oilfield parts production facilites, gas stations, etc. There is one fire station centrally located in the district with five pieces of apparatus and one on order.
