About Hopedale Fire Department:
Hopedale Fire Department proudly protects 6000 people living in an area of 5.5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Hopedale FD is a combination fire dept. protecting 6000 residents in a suburban community located within the Blackstone Valley Corridor of Mass. Organized in 1873 as Milford Hose Co. No. 3, we became a municipal entity in 1884 upon incorporation as a town. We have 6 full-time personnel incl. a Chief and 5 Firefighter/EMT's that are members of the Permanent Firefighters Assoc. of Mass. We also have a staff of 25 Call Firefighters. Our historical firehouse built in 1914 houses 3 engines, a ladder, a rescue truck with boat, tanker, forestry truck, ambulance, and a command car. Our annual budget is $375,000 and we responded to 868 emergency calls in Fiscal Year 2000.
