About Central Area Volunteer Fire Department:
We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We have recently compleated a new facility that we are very proud of. We currently have 2 class A pumpers, 3 tankers, and 2 brush/wildfire trucks. We have a mutual aid agreement with three other departments for structure fires. We work the Alabama Forestry Commision on brush/wildfire supression. We are avaiable to assist EMS with sick calls, and assist Law Enforcement with traffic control when requsted.
