About Cullen Fire District #6:
Cullen Fire District #6 proudly protects 3200 people living in an area of 23 square miles. We operate out of two stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Cullen Fire Protection District #6 was established in 1957 as The Cullen Volunteer Fire Department. In 1990 the department was formed into a district increasing our coverage from a city only to a district coverage area. Our men are paid on a per call basis. We recently underwent ISO rating changes and dropped our rating from Class 9 dist. to Class 6 and Class 7 city to Class 5. This was due to the hard work of not only our department members but also the surrounding departments that we work with. Our hats off to them for all thier help. We are currently expanding with the construction of a new central station as well as the plans for a third station. All of this is to better serve the public that we protect.
