We operate out of 5 stations. We protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. The Lehigh Acres Fire department is located in eastern Lee County, just east of Interstate 75, bordered by State RD. 80 to the north and The Southwest Florida International Airport to the south. We provide fire supprssion, and ALS ambulance services. We also have a full-time fire prevention office, mechanics division, and public information officer. We have a busy yearly brush fire season, with an ever-increasing urban-interface area. We ran 7225 emergency responses during 2008 with an average response time of 5 minutes. Currently we have more than 100 career firefighting personnel, plus support personnel.
