About Beaver Island EMS / Rescue:
Beaver Island EMS proudly protects 550 year 'round 3500 seasonal people living in an area of 85 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Completely volunteer EMS group providing Advanced Life Support service, established in 1985. Beaver Island EMS has 6 EMT-Paramedics, 3 EMT-Basics, and 9 Medical First Responders. We are an Island based service 32 miles from shore in Lake Michigan that requires air transport and a mainland based ambulance (normally Charlevoix City Ambulance) to transport our patients to the hospital. We are dispatched by the Charlevoix/Cheboygan/Emmet 911 Center (CCE-911) in Petoskey, MI
