About Allegan Township Fire & Rescue:
Allegan Township Fire & Rescue proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 75 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status. Allegan twp. Fire Department was created in the summer of 1995, and went into operation Oct. 1st of the same year. Within 3 months the department went from not having a piece of paper, to a full blown fire department. 22 personnel were hired, schooled, and ready for operation within a 6 month period. The department is now ready for anything, and proved to be one of the busiest in the area.
