Our 48 members operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Dungan VFD has automatic aid aggrements with the La Luz, Jackrabbit Flats, Burro Flats, and Alamo West Fire Departments. Dungan VFD also has mutual aid agreements the City of Alamogordo, Villiage of Tularosa, Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation, Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico State Forestry and Holloman Air Force Base. Our Department also provides EMS services to the Dungan, La Luz, Jack Rabbit Flats, Bent and Tularosa fire districts, and also provides a backup for AMR (American Medical Response). The Dungan Volunteer Fire Department is a proud supporter of the Every 15 Minutes program.
