NIOSH's draft report on the fatal Charleston Sofa Super Store was released late Thursday by Mayor Joe Riley.
The report will be delayed indefinitely while at least two federal agencies complete their probes of the blaze.
"It's sacred land now," Charleston Mayor Joe Riley said.
Following the horrific loss of firefighters in South Carolina, we must focus our attention on reducing the likelihood of another such event.
I am afraid that the mayor and the fire chief in Charleston have failed to understand that the changes recommended in the Routley Report are more than just a car wash, oil change, and tire rotation.
While we, all of us, are shocked when one firefighter is seriously injured or killed, when multiple firefighters are lost, we go beyond that.
