BETHESDA, Md (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Fire Rescue was called to scene of a house fire with children trapped in the 4800 block of Jamestown Road in Bethesda Wednesday afternoon.

When firefighters arrived the home was fully involved. Firefighters immediately entered the home and rescued three 2 1/2 year old triplets from upstairs. The children were transported to Children's Hospital with various injuries.

The father of the children was also in the home at the time of the fire. He was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and burns. Two firefighters were also being evaluated for steam burns.

Early investigation shows the fire started on the back deck and spread to the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
