PALM BAY, Fla. --

Three firefighters were injured Thursday afternoon while fighting a blaze at a house on Dinner Street.

The Palm Bay Fire-Rescue workers were taken to a nearby hospital, spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez.

Flames were shooting out of the house when fire trucks arrived. Two of the firefighters were hit by falling debris as the roof began to collapse, Martinez said. One was knocked unconscious and the other suffered second-degree burns on his neck after the debris knocked off his helmet.

Martinez said the third firefighter suffered heat-related stress and chest pains.

All of the firefighters are expected to recover, she said.

The fire remains under investigation.
