MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio --

Two volunteer firefighters from Fletcher were injured Wednesday night while responding on an emergency run to a barn fire in a privately owned pickup truck.

It happened on State Route 589 near Snyder Road, northeast of Flecther.

Both firemen were taken to Upper Valley Medical Center near Troy with injuries described as not serious.

They were identified as the driver, Clay Caven, 33, of near Fletcher, and Joshua Havenar, 25, of near Piqua.

Caven swerved to avoid hitting a slow moving vehicle ahead of him, lost control and flipped the truck several times. The were responding to the fire with red lights and siren, according to a Miami County deputy on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

As far as the barn fire, sparks from a trash fire spread to the barn, causing minor damage.
