Five El Paso firefighters were deployed to the east coast of Texas to assist with relief efforts for Hurricane Dolly on July 21.

Several incident management teams from around the state are northwest of Brownsville in an attempt to help residents with any comfort items they may need.

Lt. Danny Medrano said this storm is unlike any he has seen before. "The local jurisdictions here are overwhelmed with just doing their basic responding to emergencies, said Medrano. They are trying to get their own jurisdiction in place and what we do for them is take care of the after-effect. You know stuff that they don't have a chance to immediately address such as getting water, ice and any comfort items to the citizens."

The team is scheduled to return on July 31, 2008.
