SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. --

Three firefighters were injured battling a blaze at a Southwest Ranches house Wednesday.

The fire erupted at about 11:40 a.m. at 5521 SW 195th Terrace.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, two BSO firefighters and a Southwest Ranches volunteer firefighter were injured. One BSO firefighter suffered minor burns and the other suffered heat-related injuries.

The volunteer firefighter was transported to a local hospital for treatment of heat-related injuries.

All of the family animals -- two horses and six dogs -- were accounted for.

It is unclear what caused the blaze, but the state fire marshal is investigating.
