ELYRIA, Ohio --

A massive warehouse fire that broke out at about 2 a.m. Thursday is causing a five-block area to be evacuated in Elyria.

Twenty-one fire departments are battling the blaze at Innotech Plastics, which is located at Olive and Taylor streets.

Despite the firefighters' efforts, the fire has spread to other businesses in the areas. They include Decker Construction, Phoenix Tool & Die, and Jay-Tech.

It's unclear what type of chemicals are inside the building where the fire originated.

Area roads have been blocked, so motorists should avoid the area. The roads include Boston, Concord, Warren and Winkle streets.

No other information is known at this time.
