TAYLORS, S.C. --

Eight apartments at a Greenville County complex burned Sunday afternoon, forcing more than a dozen people from their homes.

The building at Woodstream Farms Apartments caught fire around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, investigators said.

The complex is located on Mitchell Road near Edgewood Road in Greenville County.

The fire began in an end unit of the building and spread quickly, firefighters said.

Firefighters had to deal with extreme heat and difficulty getting water to the blaze. One hydrant was dry, firefighters said.

No one was hurt, but a Red Cross spokesman said the organization is helping four to six families who lost their homes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
