PHILADELPHIA -- A fast moving fire erupted in a Philadelphia row home overnight leaving one person dead and a firefighter injured.
Firefighters were called to the 6100 block of Ludlow Street after reports of the fire at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews attempted to reach an elderly woman trapped inside the home, but found it difficult to navigate through hallways as narrow as 30 inches inside the home.
Officials said the woman inside died from injuries sustained in the fire. A firefighter suffered injuries after falling from a second floor window. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities said no smoke detectors were found in the home.
